Do Not Touch is an amazing interactive music video that tracks your mouse movement and records it for all others watching the same video to see, letting you contribute personally to this unique, constantly evolving media experience.
As you watch, you’ll see all the mouse movements of the other people watching (or who have previously watched) the video too. There are instructions that you can follow, or you can completely ignore them and do your own thing. It’s really interesting to see the parts where everyone worked together and other parts where some or nearly all the participants ignored the instructions completely.
Things get really interesting in a couple of scenes with some mild nudity! (Yes, this one is NSFW for that reason – the nudity is not overly shocking and fairly artistic but your boss may not agree)
The song is called Kilo by Dutch band Light Light. The video was created by Amsterdam based Studio Moniker to give one last hurrah to the era of the on-screen cursor – they believe that with the advent of touch screen devices like smart phones and tablets, we may soon be living in a time when the mouse cursor is a thing of the past.
From their site:
“After 50 years of pointing and clicking, we are celebrating the nearing end of the computer cursor with a music video where all our cursors can be seen together for one last time.”
