One of the most mesmerizing aspects of art is watching its creation, seeing an artist create something beautiful from nothing.
Some artists actually incorporate this aspect into the art itself, making the creation and evolution of the piece part of the artistry itself, the performance becomes the art. You’ve probably seen a great example of this in the Ukrainian sand art by Kseniya Simonova videos that were going viral a while back.
Here’s another variation on that theme, and it’s equally beautiful and hypnotic.
Mikhail Sadovnikov takes wet clay sludge, known by pottery buffs as ‘slip’, and putting it on a potters wheel, creates art with geometric patterns on the spinning wheel.
The result is simply beautiful and hypnotising. If you’re having a stressful day, check these videos out, watching the process is strangely calming and relaxing.
