Seems like an age since I’ve seen an old Dot Matrix printer, but a remember the noisy buggers from when I was a kid, rattling and screaming away in my father’s office.
I would have thought they’d all be on the scrap heap rotting away by now, having been thoroughly replaced by inkjet and laser models years ago.
But it seems that’s not the case. It turns out that with some programming gumption an old Dot Matrix can become a surprisingly good electronic instrument, with a very unique sound!
There’s a ton of these videos floating around with all different kinds of songs, check them out!
